By now you all know I have a thing for really good Mexican food. I have found a few spots to enjoy in Michigan, but I have to say, the best, most authentic Mexican food I’ve eaten was in Traverse City at Osorio’s. We could not have loved it more. It is a must if you visit Traverse City!

Insider Info.

Munch on chips and salsa ($2). They are homemade, thick, crunchy chips and there are 2 salsas, green and red to choose from. Each packs a healthy dose of spice. The green one was my favorite.

Inhale the guacamole ($4). Osorio’s has the best guacamole I have ever had. Forget all the fancy twists and special oils, this one is pure and delicious. Make sure you order it with your chips, then save it to put on top of everything else.

Try the tortillas. They offer homemade corn and flour tortillas that come out warm. If I lived in Traverse, I just might stop by daily and eat a whole order all on my own. Both varieties were fantastic ($1 for 6).

Order the tacos for 4. Our family of 6 ordered the tacos for 4 ($39.99) and it was more than enough for all of us and a fun, casual way to eat together where everyone can choose what they like and make their own taco. We loved having the variety of meats (pork, chicken and beef), plus all the toppings…rice, beans, guac, and pico de gallo. We all especially loved the pico de gallo and would probably order that with our chips next time too ($2).

Be a carnivore. You will want to order something with the carne asada. An absolute must.

Go on Friday.
I am dying to go on Friday to try the Fish Tacos. They look amazing.

Go back. I have a feeling that I would be a fan of just about everything Osorio’s offers, and my kids were totally sold. There was a local who comes often sitting next to us and he said he has eaten almost everything on the menu and loves it all. Good to know, we will definitely return.

If you go.
