Blueberries are my favorite fruit to pick with kids…they come off easily, they are plentiful and easy to find, and there are no thorns or prickles to watch out for. Even toddlers can join in the family picking; it’s that easy.
Our favorite place to pick the blueberries is at the Dexter Blueberry Farm; they have been so delicious every year, and it’s an activity we all look forward to. If you don’t think you like blueberries enough, it’s because you have never had them right off the bush. Trust me, you will lOVE there. Take your family out for an afternoon before school starts…eat them whole, make some muffins, and use the rest for freezer jam. It was a little taste of summer all year long.
