How to Play:
Setup:
- Give each player one set of A-B-C-D cards.
- Place all BFF (best friends forever) cards in the middle of the table.
Game Play:
- The youngest player is the first reader; they read one Question Card out loud–including all four answers.
- All other players guess which answer the reader will say is “correct” and place their A-B-C-D card face down in front of them.
- The reader reveals their truthful answer.
- Each player who guessed correctly gets one BFF card.
- The role of the reader is passed clockwise to the next person.
Game End:
The game ends when
- A certain number of rounds have been played, or
- A certain number of BFF cards have been won, or
- A certain time limit has been met.
We like the round to end when someone reaches 10 BFF cards.
Game Play FAQs:
Q: Can the reader skip a question they don’t like?
A: Yes! This game should be fun and connective, so if the question doesn’t work for you, choose another one.
Q: Can we replace an answer with one we make up?
A: Of course—if you are quick! There is room to be creative, but don’t make it so obvious you give it away.
Q: Should we do the orange cards or blue cards first?
A: It doesn’t matter! You might choose one color for one game and another for the next game, or you might just let the reader pick which side works best for them. Just put your used cards at the back of the deck so you don’t repeat them.
Alternate Play Options:
Most In Common:
One person reads the card. Everyone (including the reader) secretly places the letter of their own answer in front of them face down. All those who picked the most popular answer collect a BFF card. Play continues until 10 BFF cards have been won.
Couple Play:
Each couple plays the game as a pair and takes two sets of ABCD cards. The entire group answers the same question, but couples answer for themselves and guess their partner’s answer. Each couple gets a BFF card for guessing the right answer for each other, up to two cards for each question. The couple with the most BFF cards is declared the “Perfect Match!”
