There are so many great summer day camps offered in the Ann Arbor area. Some are new to the city and others are just a bit less well known, so Mom Explores Michigan is trying to highlight a few this year to help make your decisions a bit easier! For a full list of camps, click here.

This week, the spotlight is on Bricks 4 Kidz!

Q: What is summer camp like at Bricks 4 Kidz?
A: A Bricks 4 Kidz® camp is a fresh and fun way for kids to spend their school break! With specially-designed Bricks 4 Kidz® models, LEGO® games galore, crafts, and plenty of time for free-play, the kids are always having fun. Camps are specially designed for kids ages 6-12 and are staffed by trained and screened Bricks 4 Kidz® teachers.

Q: What are the dates/times/ages/cost?
A: Each camp runs for 5 days (M-F). There are 2 sessions each week 9am-12pm, and 1pm-4pm. Cost of camps range from $150-$175 per session. Discounts apply for full day enrollment, early bird registration, movie theater promotion, or sibling discount.

Q: Where does the camp take place?
A: There are multiple locations to choose from to create convenience for parents and variety for the children. We’re holding camps at local ice rinks and Hands On Museums so that we can take advantage of their activities during our camp.

Q: What type of child might really enjoy Bricks 4 Kidz?
A: Kids who like variety and constant activity especially enjoy our camps. We operate our camps in stations and include crafts, games, challenges, and motorized, themed-models. We keep kids on the move!

Q: What are some highlights campers will really look forward to?
A: Most kids have not used motors with their LEGO models and all our camps have interactive models that the kids love! We incorporate variety into the camps. We are not just ‘building’ for 3 hours.

Q: What make camp at Bricks 4 Kidz different from other day camps?
A:  We teach STEM principles in our camps, we work in teams, and all our activities are “hands-on.” We gently encourage kids to work on teamwork, conflict resolution and socialization in a non-competitive atmosphere.

Q: Finish this sentence, “After attending Bricks 4 Kidz kids…”
A: …Leave with a lot more confidence in their ability to complete a project.

Q: Anything parents need to know about food/transportation/ etc.?
A:  Some camps include lunch in their prices. Parents are expected to pack a snack and water bottle for every camper. All our camps are nut-free. We offer free lunchtime supervision when enrolled in a full day camp.

Q: Anything else we need to know?
A: We make exceptions on our minimum age based on experience and ability.
